Overview

Dating apps have generated billions of first messages, but we rarely learn from collective patterns. This experiment creates a testing ground where opening lines compete in controlled scenarios.

Methodology

Users submit opening messages for different contexts (professional, casual, playful). Other users rate them on approachability, interest, and authenticity. We track which patterns consistently perform.

Initial Findings

Questions that show genuine curiosity outperform clever wordplay by 3:1. Specificity matters more than humor. The word "actually" is a conversation killer.
